My Story
My Story — Why This Matters to Lonely Llama
I’m proud to be hosting a Coffee Evening in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support — because cancer has touched too many lives, including those within our Lonely Llama community. What begins as a simple cup of coffee can become something powerful: a moment of care, a space to remember, and a chance to give hope.
Macmillan is 98% funded by voluntary donations, and with your help, they can continue doing whatever it takes for the 3.5 million people living with cancer in the UK right now. From nurses and phone support lines to financial guidance and emotional care — Macmillan is often the hand people hold in their darkest hours.
But this event is also about starting something new.
Through Lonely Llama CIC, we are proud to be part of GYUP (Great Yarmouth Unity Project), supporting a local Cancer Screening Initiative focused on early detection and awareness. We are working alongside Cancer Champions in our area to help spread the word about the importance of screening and encouraging our community to take action, not chances.
This Halloween, we’re turning a “coffee morning” into a Coffee Evening — a moment after dark to come together in remembrance, reflection, and solidarity. Every penny raised will go directly to Macmillan, helping them continue the life-changing support they provide.
Thank you for standing with us — for every donation, every share, and every name remembered. Together, we can make sure no one faces cancer alone.
