My Story

My family is currently experiencing first-hand just how much of a difference Macmillan nurses make to people living with cancer.

My dad has advanced prostate cancer and is now at home, supported by a team of incredible Macmillan palliative care nurses. They visit six times a day, throughout the day and during the night, to make sure he has the right level of medication to manage pain, while also providing the care, dignity, and comfort he needs.

Until this support was in place, my mum cared for him full-time, despite battling arthritis herself. Like many, she simply “got on with it”. But the truth is, without Macmillan’s help, it was exhausting and overwhelming. Their care has been nothing short of a lifeline, not only for my dad, but for all of us.

That’s why I’m supporting Macmillan Cancer Support’s Coffee Morning. Every pound raised helps fund the nurses and vital services that provide comfort, dignity, and strength to families when they need it most.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, you’ll be making a real difference to countless people and families living with cancer.

Thank you for your kindness and support. 💚
